"We're Better Together" is our theme this year. We're excited to see members face-to-face once again and share ideas and information. Of course, FMHA will follow all of the latest CDC protocols issued at that time.

Although it will be “different,” FMHA believes June is a perfect time of year to hold a Convention and, no less, at a beautiful hotel on the water with only a 20 minute shuttle ride from the hotel to Lido Beach! It gets even better! You will not be paying the $365 standard rate at the Hyatt Sarasota. FMHA has negotiated an incredible group rate of $149 that will also be honored three days before and after the Convention.  So plan now and make it a vacation. You deserve it!

CONVENTION KICKS OFF WITH COVID-19 WORKSHOP
Starting at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 17, FMHA's Annual Convention will kick the workshops off with "All Things COVID-19." Now that some of the COVID-19 dust has settled, we will take a long, hard look at how the residual effects of the Coronavirus impacts your business. We will cover topics such as liability protection for your business, employment law and benefits focusing on requiring employees to be vaccinated and if vaccines are required, who will cover the cost. During the 2021 Legislative Session, lawmakers will be spending most of their time discussing liability protection for businesses. FMHA will discuss, in length, ways to protect your business and employees and the new laws that passed.

Although COVID-19 will be a main topic of conversation at this year’s Convention, it won’t be the only topic. FMHA is putting together a strong program. Click for Program Schedule. We will continue to update members on the progress of our Convention planning. Watch your email and this website for updates!

FMHA KEEPS YOUR SAFETY IN MIND DURING THE CONVENTION
With any luck COVID-19 vaccines will be available to everyone prior to June, but that doesn't mean we'll let our guard down. FMHA will adhere to any and all CDC guidelines in place at the time of the Convention including social distancing, mandating mask wearing and hand sanitizer dispensers placed throughout the Convention – in fact, the Hyatt Regency Sarasota has in place very strict guidelines to insure hotel guests feel comfortable and safe. Including the guidelines previously mentioned, Hyatt is currently also doing the following:
  • All hotel employees have their temperatures checked when reported to work. If their temperature is 100.4 or higher, they are sent home.
  • All hotel employees wear masks and gloves.
  • No valet.
  • Elevators can carry up to four guests to all for distancing.
  • Sleeping rooms are not cleaned until three hours after the guest departs.
  • During a guest’s stay, the sleeping room is not entered to be cleaned. Guests may request additional towels, sheets, etc. to be left outside their room. If a guest requests service in their room, they must vacate the room for three hours prior to our staff entering to service.
  • Seating in meeting rooms is spaced based on current guidelines.
  • Nothing is pre-set on tables other than silverware rolled in a linen napkin and centerpieces.
  • Water stations in meeting rooms have a covered water dispenser.
  • All plated banquet meals are present at the table and covered and cover is not removed until placed in front of guest(s).
  • All banquet buffets have plastic shields between the guest and the attendant/food.
  • Attendant(s) place food items on guest’s plate.
  • Guest must wear masks when ordering from a banquet bar or going through a buffet line.
